When it comes to making a mixed drink it needs to be easy. I mean super easy and a major plus – not thousands of calories and carbs! Okay, maybe I’m being a tad dramatic but I’m sure you understand. So when I was trying to be more mindful of the calories and carbs I was consuming after having our daughter, I decided to stop drinking cokes and switch to La Croix. It was definitely an acquired taste starting out but soon I was hooked and didn’t crave cokes at all! Next came the struggle of “okay, well wine and beer are full of those things so what can I have when we go out or to wind down?”. I started looking up low cal/carb drinks and vodka soda kept popping up. Thats when I decided to put my spin on it and get creative with what I already had at home. I just so happened to have at the house Smirnoff Blueberry Vodka from when I used to make these super yummy Blueberry Moscow Mules I found on Pinterest and Lime La Croix. What do ya know, mixing those two things together over ice are pretty damn good! As I started making them more regularly is when I started grabbing limes too. They just give it that extra flavor and if you are feeling really fancy you could pick up some fresh blueberries to throw in there too!
There isn’t really an exact recipe for this one. If we’re being honest here, the way I measure is by the kind of day I had with my 2 year old #sorrynotsorry! But for the ones who like instructions please see below:
Blueberry Lime Vodka Soda
glass/mule with ice
2 oz Smirnoff Blueberry Vodka
1/2 can Lime La Croix
2 squeezed lime wedges (I keep the wedges in my drink)
Mix everything together
Garnish with fresh blueberries
I hope you enjoy this tasty goodness as much as I do. Please feel free to leave comment below with any questions you may have. I would also love to hear if you made it! Before you leave, I went ahead and found some fun drinkware for y’all to take a peak at too! This post contains affiliate links.
